switching on wireless after minimal install: f16
by Ranjan Maitra
Hi,
Just playing with minimal install: I was able to install minimally.
Question: how do I switch on wireless?
Playing last week using wired, I simply did:
chkconfig network on
service network start
but with wireless, I get
Startnig network (via systemctl): Job failed. See system logs and
'systemctl status' for details....
[FAILED]
Any suggestions?
TIA and best,
Ranjan

Problem converting RFC 4716 to OpenSSH key file
by Lázaro Morales
Hello,
When I try to convert a RFC 4716 key file to OpenSSH (Specifically those
generated by PuTTY) I get:
# ssh-keygen -i -f dsa-key.pub >> .ssh/authorized_keys
dsa-key.pub: Permission denied
The files permissions are:
-rwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 680 Mar 7 05:59 dsa-public-key.pub
-rw-------. 1 root root 0 Mar 7 06:06 authorized_keys
The command is apply as root, so I think that there should not be problem
with permissions. What could be then?
Thanks in advance,
Lázaro

YouTube, HTML5, and Chromium. Why the sudden malfunction?
by Christopher Svanefalk
Last month, one of the most pleasant surprises I ran across was the fact
that Google finally seemed to have defaulted to HTML5 for YouTube.
Virtually every video I played (I cannot remember a single counterexample)
was working fully in the HTML5 player. It was a real relief, since I really
do not want to rely on Flash for my web experience.
The last few weeks, however, something has changed drastically on this
front. All of a sudden, the majority of videos are NOT playable. They only
throw an "your browser does not currently recognize any of the video
formats available" exception, and refuse to play.
Does anyone know why this is? Are there any possible workarounds?
I am running Chromium 19, built on Fedora 16.

Hi friends,

using FireFox10.0.1 I got the error:

How to solve the SSl/TLS authentication?
I have a valid certificate, and IcedTea-web seems ok.
Anybody helps?
Thanks in advance.

Remove launchers fedora 16
by Raquel Bautista
Hello,
I have started using fedora 16 at work, with classic gnome. I add by
mistake some launchers but I am not able to delete them now. If I click
with the right buttom over them the menu only have the options 'launch' and
'properties'.
Anyone can help me about how to remove them?
Thanlks

Problem with su -
by Bob Goodwin
I have an F-16 computer that was working normally a couple of
days ago when run this morning has an unusual [to me] problem.
When I su and type in the root password form the XCFE desktop it
spends about 20 seconds before displaying a prompt and then
instead of:
[bobg@box6 ~]$ su
Password:
[root@box6 bobg]# exit
I get a prompt: bash-4.2#
If instead of bringing up the desktop with startx I "su" it
changes to root quickly after entering the password, also with
the prompt "bash-4.2#."
Other than that it apparently works? But obviously something has
changed and I can't guess what?
