If so, then perhaps it's a Gnome-integration thing where kalarm is looking for
a timezone setting that I don't have on my Gnome desktop.
Yes, I am a KDE user so I have the whole of KDE installed...or at least
most of it. Kalarm worked as expected in KDE as well as the just tested
Gnome.
