I didn't realize they'd only gotten seven votes (presumably of the
maintainers who advocate systemd). I do understand that quorum rules
need to be loose enough to allow anything at all to get done.
But this seems *too* loose.
It seemed to be only seven from other messages in the thread and some
pages I found searching. Perhaps they have some committee which is
supposed to decide things like this and which happens to have seven
members.
It remains to be seen if they have a way to do a sane conversion from
whatever init system users are using now to systemd during a
distribution upgrade. Maybe they don't need one for a while ago, Debian
has made a decision, be it an unconscious one or not, to break things
when it suits them. I only have it because I couldn't get xen to work
with centos and it works with Debian.
