I get an option to save the password. Did you check that box?
Yes, I tried that, but it errors when starting the KVM. I have to
remove the password before it'll start.
Are you starting the console from virt-manager?

Yes. I'd use cockpit, but I migrated from the monolithic libvirtd to
modular libvirt and now cockpit can't manage VMs. I didn't even know
the move from monolithic to modular has started. I figured I'd play
with it in Fedora and get my bearings. I'm used to monolithic libvirtd
and setting that up.
What would IBM gain from you having to enter a password to connect?
It's the removal of SPICE from RHEL 9 that I'm referring to. It's upset
a whack of people. The reasons RH eventually gave for deprecating it
didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, especially since SPICE is
superior. It's either cost saving measure or a nudge to everyone to
move to other solutions, including paid options from 3rd parties.
If SPICE development slows or worse stops, I'm guessing the other
distros will drop it, too.
