Well, the easiest solution for not going through the network is to take the drive out of
the old laptop and put it in a USB
enclosure. Then plug it in the new laptop and just copy.

Sorry, I wanted to mention that both these machines are Dell XPS 13s, one older
generation, the other new and pulling out the HDD is a lot of work. So I was wanting to
avoid that.
