It says it is running:
[root@tomh nvtest]# systemctl status --full systemd-journald.service
● systemd-journald.service - Journal Service
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-journald.service; static; vendor
preset: disabled)
Active: active (running) since Thu 2017-07-27 09:01:25 EDT; 39min ago
Docs: man:systemd-journald.service(8)
man:journald.conf(5)
Main PID: 527 (systemd-journal)
Status: "Processing requests..."
Tasks: 1 (limit: 4915)
CGroup: /system.slice/systemd-journald.service
└─527 /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-journald
I guess I'll have to spend the next week or so figuring out the syntax
for the new rsyslog config so I can turn on the socket connection,
because imjournal doesn't seem to be very useful...
Wonder if you've seen this?
