Whyfor is it now printing /etc/motd twice?
Because there are 2 methods for printing motd.
Edit your /etc/ssh/sshd_config and change the PrintMotd from the default "yes"
to
"no" and/or read the notes in sshd_config.rpmnew which probably now exists
on your system.
