It appears to be often related to hybrid graphics. Is that the case here?
I don't know what exactly is a hybrid graphics... Do you mean that there
are two graphic cards? It the case as far I can see:
lspci -vnnn | perl -lne 'print if /^\d+\:.+(\[\S+\:\S+\])/' | grep VGA
returns:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core
Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0416] (rev 06) (prog-if
00 [VGA controller])
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
[AMD/ATI] Mars XTX [Radeon HD 8790M] [1002:6606] (rev ff) (prog-if ff)
So, I can see that the integrated graphic card is in use, not the ATI card.
I have two questions:
1- How to activate the ATI graphic card? This card is supported by linux
for I bought that computer from Dell with ubuntu installed to be sure
that the hardware is linux compatible and the ATI graphic was configured.
2- Why, as the ATI card is not in use, the radeon module is loaded by
the kernel?
