Still had the suspend bounce on 1st suspend only with the new kernel, 4.17.6
I will work up a bug report on it.

I switched back to 4.17.3 Monday morning after the suspend in my room
locked up on my way down to the morning sessions. I right away had
the double suspend behaviour that morning, then multiple suspends all
day without any lockups or any more double suspends.
So now I wait for the next kernel to see what goodies it brings forth.
