Have you tried disabling the screen lock to eliminate that possibility?

You don't have any mounts that might become stale after an extended
period of time?
I noted that when I make a sshfs to a machine through ADSL, it may stall.
It happened in the past, and then it disappeared, and it is back with fedora 30
(or 29?).
