I wouldn't do it. MP3's are compressed one way and ogg a different way.
When you convert you will lose quality. And from my experience,
quality is not that great.
I use flac for my rips but my portable player won't play them. I want
to do a batch job of conversion to ogg or mp3 when I want to put music
on my player(s).
On individual files I just tried Audacity and it worked okay going from
flac to ogg or mp3.
