No trouble here, but... it may help to know exactly what
versions of stuff you're using:
rpm -q kdelibs openoffice.org-writer
kdelibs-4.1.2-5.fc9.i386
openoffice.org-writer-2.4.1-17.6.fc9.i386
For the record, with the above versions, all my OpenOffice apps
open and function normally.
