Do you have an/etc/X11/xorg.conf or a file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/
which specifically defines the drivers in an InputDevice section? If so, try removing
those.
I used Xorg -configure as root, moved /root/xorg.config.new to
/etc/X11/xorg.config and then, as my regular user, ran startxfce4. Same
thing, with the same lines in the file. I removed all references to
mouse and keyboard from the file and now I get this in Xorg.0.log:
[ 306.954] (II) The server relies on udev to provide the list of input
devices.
If no devices become available, reconfigure udev or disable AutoAddDevices.
Looks like something's wrong with udev, but what?
