For those who are interested the latest SMP Kernel is atill crashing when cron or anacron do their thing when using a workstation install.. A minimum install does not have the problem and runs fine.. Later..

For what it's worth: $ uname -a Linux xxxxxxxx.homedns.org 2.4.22-1.2166.nptlsmp #1 SMP Fri Jan 30 13:36:25 EST 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux $ uptime 09:06:52 up 3 days, 12:41, 4 users, load average: 0.10, 0.23, 0.45 I used the "Install Kitchen Sink" option...

Similar here, although I've got a dual Athlon system on a Tyan S2466 mobo. 2149 was the first SMP kernel I ran on the system, and both it and 2166 have been fine.
