OpenVPN is very good. Use it if you can.

Port 443 is HTTPS. That's not SSL port. SSL port doesn't exists. It's
just a protocol on top of another one (like HTTPS cs HTTP, or LDAPS vs
LDAP) for securing the transmission.
> a VPN withSSL encryption is on the 443 port only or not ?
443 => HTTPS, nothing related to VPN.
OpenVPN use the port you want, but the default is 5000
You can use OpenVPN with UDP or TCP packets, on a user-defined port.
Voila.

HD Noise
by Carter J. Castor
I have a Dell Inspirion Laptop. The hard drive is very quite all day;
however, when I leave it idle at night, it starts spinning like crazy.
I would turn it off; however, I use KAlarm as my alarm clock so it sits
by my bed on my desk all night. I was wondering what would cause it to
suddenly make so much noise and how I could fix it.

Question SMB:///
by Chadley Wilson
Why is it that if I launch nautilus smb:/// it takes forever to find the
workgroups where as typing
[root@localhost chadley]# smbtree -D
Password:
session request to 196.25.100.23 failed (Called name not present)
session request to 196.25.100.224 failed (Called name not present)
WORKGROUP
TECHNICAL
STORES
RENTNET-SA
RECOVERY
PINNACLE
PAYROLL
FINANCE
BRAND
ASSEMBLIES
[root@localhost chadley]#
It is almost instant would there be a good reason why the front end
takes so long to insert the results of the back-end.
Or did some clever programmer decide he would force us to like the
backend HA HA! :- )
Just curious no real problem,

you could always just double click the .iso file and when it asks you what program to run, select nero and fill in the check box to make that the default program.

Highpoint serial ata controller
by Pedro Fernandes Macedo
I'm having some issues with my onboard SATA and I'm looking for a PCI
solution. So far , I found this Highpoint Rocket 1520NR card and a
Vipower VP9601 card (never heard about this vipower , so I'm gonna buy
the Highpoint). Is there anybody using this card ? Any issues I should
be aware?
TIA

I need help, I have the ISO images for Fedora core 1, my
problem is that I cannot get it to boot when I burn it to CD, I use Nero
5.5, and made a bootdisk, added it to the burn, but it doesn't work,
I've tried numerous times and still no luck, in my region Linux is not a
big OS, It is used for server purposes, but not at all for workstations,
I am running Red Hat 9, have all the lasest RPM's, I even upgraded the
kernel with no problem, I have checked the MD5, for combatibilty, they
match, I've downloaded the images within XP, I could not get Bit Torrent
to work in RH9.
I can work with Linux once it is installed, when I go to the
folder and try to explore it in XP it will not let me open it. When I
put the Red Hat cd's in XP, I can go to my computer and explore the
cd's, so it is a little confusing. I have know problem with fdisk, and
formatting a Computer, so that is not the issue, I am dual booting Win
2000, with Red Hat 9, and have know problems, so as you can see I can
work with the platform, my issue is putting it to disc and having it
boot!!
Please help,
Daryl Fournier, dgfournier33(a)msn.com
