Dazzle DVC80 under FC16
by Bruno Martins
Hello guys,
Has anyone ever got this to working under any Linux distro, including
Fedora?
I have just plugged it in and I get this on dmesg:

However, I cannot make it work (my goal is to capture video from a
camcorder).
I've tried using cheese for this, but it just crashes and ABRT
launches for me to fill a bug.
Any ideas?
Best regards,

Firefox problems
by JD
Have firefox-12.0-1.fc16.i686
Problem1: Youtube videos auto-repeat. Have no idea where the setting for
that is.
Problem2: Most youtube videos stop at 0:42 seconds position and after a
while (about a couple of minutes),
I get an error message in the video display area, telling me
to try again later.
Problem3: Clicking File->Quit does NOT save my tabs and windows, which
is contrary to what
the mozilla support page claims:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firefox%20does%20not%20ask%20to%20sav...
Am I missing a setting or settings?
Tried to login to my bugzilla.mozilla account to search for similar bugs,
but for some reason, the login fails with server not found.

X Hang when starting machine
by Antonio Olivares
Dear folks,
For the past week or so, I have a machine running Fedora 16 and X worked fine till a week or so ago. I have started in level 3 and relabeled everything(in case Selinux has a problem), but machine still hangs when starting up. I start in level 3 and type startx and I get Fallback mode (Gnome 3). If I start in gui mode I get a hang and cannot get to X. Sometimes I am lucky to get X. However booting with enforcing=0, X comes up with no problem.
I have relabeled filesystem two times already and this continues to happen.
Smolt Profile in case it is important
http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pub_6f209009-0c1d-4fe8-94e9-9dda0d19ac44
I welcome ideas suggestions and comments. I am hitting this bug on a daily basis as my students use this machine for school work and it is not working well. My students are upset at me, because I have to add the extra enforcing=0, when things should just work.
Best Regards,
Antonio

kernel 3.3.4-3.fc16.x86_64 lost wireless and gnome shell segfault?
by Ian Malone
Anyone else seeing this? New kernel 3.3.4-3.fc16.x86_64 this morning,
I now lose wireless after a short time. Interestingly my normal
response (stop NetworkManager, modprobe -r rt2500pci, then bring them
both back up again) causes a segfault in libgobject-2.0.so gnome shell
(visible in dmesg, also results in gnome shell restarting). Going back
to 3.3.2-6.fc16 seems okay, can file a bug, but wanted to check first.

Can we add a rule for F19 that the name shall not be an adjective-noun

Sata device in a USB docking station problems.
by George R Goffe
Hi,
I'm having a bit of a problem with some SATA drives in docking stations connected to USB ports.
The problem seems to be unrelated to heavy I/O and occurs randomly. Once, without the drive even being mounted.
Here's a sample of output from /var/log/messages:

I also have made a couple of bug reports which appear to be getting no attention.
[Bug 802607] New: reset high-speed USB device (sata drive and USB connection)
I've started loosing data now.
Does anyone have any clues?
The system is running FC 16 x86_64 fully up to date. The problem has persisted across several kernels including the current kernel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
George...

is fvwm orphaned in F17?
by Ranjan Maitra
Hi,
I have filed a couple of BZ requests over the past year suggesting a
move to the stable branch of fvwm (even second digit: 2.6.4) instead
of the developmental (odd second digit: 2.5.30) and never got even an
acknowledgment. I noticed also that fvwm is not in rawhide? Does this
mean that this is (being) orphaned?
Many thanks and best wishes,
Ranjan
