Both the "su" and "sudo" command will elevate the
user to root. Sudo's quirks have pissed me off
for ages. Your mileage may vary.
Not sure what you mean by "quirks". Are you talking about bugs or
features? I use "sudo" regularly (e.g. whenever I run 'dnf update') and
don't have any issues with it.
