you could also argue that while being cocky and misogynistic, the song blurred lines is
more about consent than it is about rape. He say's "I know you want it"
when he is talking about a girl who is leading him on, sure it's a douchey thing
to say but I think people can relate to being in a situation where some one seems
like they are really interested one minute and are distant the next. He then goes on to
say "Must wanna get nasty, go ahead get at me" which in the context of the
song I think means I'm tired of these games if you want to get with me come get with
me, pretty much putting the ball in her court. I think the blurred lines are whether
she wants to get with him or not, it's blurred because she's hot and cold.
It's not perfect its definitely douchey and like you said , it's just a dumb
song.
