Connection Timed Out
by Helgi Þormar
Hi
Okey i'm new to this translation stuff in fedora but when i do
cvs -z9 co translate
after doing export CVSROOT=:ext:dufuz@i18n.redhat.com:/usr/local/CVS
I get elvis.redhat.com: Connection timed out
This has been that way now almost i think 24 hours :/
But all seems to work regarding elvis.redhat.com http and so on.
Is it anything that i'm doing wrong or something ?

Polish Translation Group
by Grzegorz Rajda
Hi!
I think about creation Polish Translation Group. Because Fedora use
Gnome and Kde and some other aplications.

Accidental string changes in anaconda?
by Christian Rose
Ok, so why someone seems to have reverted all string changes that have
happened the last months in anaconda beats me.
Anaconda has had many string changes of the type:
mention of tool "redhat-config-xxx" => mention of tool
"system-config-xxx"
mention of "Red Hat Linux" => mention of %s (which might be replaced by
"Red Hat Linux" or "Fedora Core" by a compile time switch)
Now all those string changes are reverted, at least in the anaconda po
files, so we're back to square zero: anaconda happily tells users to use
redhat-config-xxx tools, and calls the product "Red Hat Linux" in a
hardcoded way.
Accident, or some strange strategy that beats me?

can not a connect to CVS
by Almacha
I know this is certainly a stupid question but why do I got :
Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages
if any)
[almacha@cheval almacha]$
when I try to connect to CVS (cvs -z9 co translate or anything else).
I have this in my ~/.bashrc file:
export CVSROOT=:ext:almacha@i18n.redhat.com:/usr/local/CVS
export CVS_RSH=ssh
My username is almacha and I did signup in
http://rhlinux.redhat.com/cgi-bin/i18n-signup/ and received an E-Mail
which told me "According to our records, your request has been resolved."
I have a ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub file that contains:

Installation Language at anaconda
by Hasbullah Bin Pit
Dear all
I'm trying my best to conplete anaconda-po & anaconda/gui/help
Malay translation. I hope malay can be one of the language
that user can use during installation.
Is that any way that i can check what is the language listed for
installation?
any cvs module to checkout?

Two (useful) scripts
by Federico Bernardi
We had the problem of inconsistency between .po and .pot files, since
someone could commit changes made to an old file.
I've made two scripts that I hope will help the managing of the .po and .pot
files.
I recommend to use it only if you are sure that the two files are out of
sync, and that will use it only one preson per language. (maybe better if
she is Sarah or other administrators).
1)
The first script, named popotmerge wants to be started with the .po file you
want to merge and MUST be executed from the directory from which you want
the script searches for .po files.
For example:
cd /home/fede/fedora
./popotmerge it.po
the script will search for all "it.po" and *.pot files starting from the
current working directory (`pwd`) and merges they together.
Actually you must have write permissions to /tmp directory (or you can
change the variable value at the begin of the script with $HOME).
2)
The second script, named pocvscommit wants to be started with the .po file
you want to commit via CVS and MUST be executed from the same directory as
the preview script.
For example:
cd /home/fede/fedora
./pocvscommit it.po
the script will search for all "it.po" files and commit the changes to the
CVS server.
You must have your CVS variable environment correctly configured.
-----
If you consider this message useful, and you was able to understand my poor
guide, use it with care.
To install:
save the attachment and
chmod +x popotmerge pocvscommit
Ciao!
Federico

Group of Red Hat
by Pawel Szopinski
Hello,
I would like to know, how I should to answer for a question from the
translation account form, which ask me about my group, internal or
external of Red Hat. I didn't find the answer in the list archives. I'm
interesting to make a progress in Polish translations.
Cheers,

initscripts
by Josep Puigdemont
Hi!
When translating initscripts, I've found this:
#: /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions:441
msgid "Start service $1 (Y)es/(N)o/(C)ontinue? [Y] "
I see in Spanish they translate it as "...(S)i/(N)o/(C)ontinuar? [S] "
Same for Welsh (but different letters :), Italian, and the rest... So
we'll translate it as such. But I am a little bit curious, is there some
magic in the script that will understand it? How does this work?
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
/Josep
