I find these API endopoints really useful. However, I'd really
love to
have them available somewhere in the Zanata interface, at least for
language coordinators.
As a coordinator for italian, I find Zanata rather cumbersome to use
for my purposes; I'd need some views over the Zanata data focused on
the language rather than the project.
So for instance, when I log in there is no way to (in no particular order):
- determine the latest projects my translators worked on
- observe which projects are lagging behind the base language
- measure how are we doing compared to the previous cycle
I have the same needs and created a ticket:
https://zanata.atlassian.net/browse/ZNTA-1034 (Apr 2016)
The three tickets Alex' sent are interesting, but I don't feel like they
answer these subjets.
I was invited to use the Python client to get stats, but it doesn't
answer that need:
https://zanata.atlassian.net/browse/ZNTA-927 (Feb 2016)
I also tried to use the API to get more information, but it fails for
some projects:
https://zanata.atlassian.net/browse/ZNTA-968 (May 2016)
Maybe should we be more specific about what we need?
By the way, does anyone have feeback from other communities? It's
obvious there is no perfect system and that Zanata is great for editing,
but it would probably help us to know how friends handle the same situation.
Here is what I know:
OpenSue uses Weblate:
https://l10n.opensuse.org/
Ubuntu and Linux Minit use Launchpad:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ and
https://translations.launchpad.net/linuxmint
Arch & Gentoo don't use a translation platform (wiki articles).
Debian has none but I can see 4 projects moved to
https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/
