Just recently, Package Maintainer Docs were imported from wiki to docs.fp.o [1]. The import mainly involved moving the content from one platform to another, but in certain places, the docs were seriously out of date or otherwise in bad shape, so many places were also modified during the move.
Until now, only the source English has been moved, next in line are translations. This is a part of Fedora that am not very familiar with, so I am writing to this list to ask for guidance.
My first question is, does starting a new docs.fp.o site require some manual actions to enable localization? Currently, I cannot find anything about the new Docs site at Fedora Weblate.
The second question is, is there anything that can be done to automatically import those parts of the existing Wiki translations that are still valid? The fact that the move was combined with modifications too complicates this, but I would like to at least check if there is some automation that could help.

My (perhaps not very clean) understanding is that websites have a repository of relevant pot and po files (https://pagure.io/fedora-web/translations), such repository is used by Weblate somewhat automatically to pull and push files from/to translation. Weblate's documentation could be clearer - https://docs.weblate.org/en/latest/.

Thank you Josef, the pointers you give are very useful, both for eventually getting package-maintainer-docs translated, and understanding the Fedora localization setup in general.
I see you already tagged the relevant people to the package-maintainer-docs issue about this. Let us see if there is a response. I will also create an issue to fedora-l10n/tickets.

Yes it does, it is a very manual process in which you can't do anything, only me have the proper accesses to do it (which definitely is something to change). I'll do it and come back to here to confirm when it is done (and to tell you how this works).

Nope, this is the reason why translating wiki is not a good idea, what is done there can't be easily reused.
