How to update f10 branch?
by Geert Warrink
With the recent introduction of a f10 branch for the release notes,
I wonder how to update po files in the f10 branch using Transifex.
I only found a way to update the master branch.

POT/PO update - DO NOT PANIC
by Paul W. Frields
When I added entries to the colophon, it introduced changes into the
POT and PO files. This is expected, and nothing to worry about.
Translators, do not worry just because your module display now looks
incomplete (or more incomplete). The changes were only names for the
colophon section and therefore translation is not vital for the
official F10 release.

Heh, this was not on my mind when I thought of the wording, but
whatever floats people's boats....
Your point about translation is excellent. For non-English speakers,
the meaning of "Fire it up" as intended is similar to "start the
engines," and in this case the engine is a nuclear furnace of software
freedom! :-) So something that captures that aspect is probably the
right way to go for translation.

No Finnish translation of Release Notes this time - LINGUAS change
by Ville-Pekka Vainio
Hi all,
I have just commented out fi from the LINGUAS file in release-notes git. From
F7 to F9 I did the release notes translations by myself, but for F10 I just
didn't have the time to do all that work. I wasn't able to get any others
from the Finnish community to do the translations either, which wasn't really
that surprising since translating about a thousand messages is quite an
effort and there's only a few of us interested in translations anyway.
As a result, fi.po is currently 13% translated, it's probably not worth
publishing at all. The readmes and about-fedora are (almost) completely
translated, those could be published. I hope we'll be able to provide
release-notes translations again for F11 :)

RFC: Thoughts and evaluations on FLSCo
by Dimitris Glezos
Hi all.
With the elections for FLSCo coming soon, I think it's a good time to
take a step back and see how our experiment for a SCo has done so far.
We started with a simple goal: be able to speak on behalf of the
Translation Project, having the stamp of approval of the community
itself. That was mainly my POV. Being part of this group, I feel much
more comfortable participating in the Release meetings and answering
questions like "How does FLP feel about slipping one week?" etc.
My feeling is that FLSCo shouldn't replace the community-way of taking
decisions. We have FLP meetings and not FLSCo meetings, and important
issues discussed there are usually redirected to the list for reaching
a consensus before going forward.
I'd like to know how you feel about our work so far. What did we do
right and where can we improve? Has a change happened, and if yes, why
where is it important in terms of the L10n architecture in Fedora?

Fedora 10 Website Translation
by Ricky Zhou
Hi!
Sorry I was late getting the strings ready - these last two weeks were
really crazy. Anyway, we're going try to do things a bit differently
this time around - the Fedora 10 website is currently in the
fedora-web.test repo (which has already been added to Transifex).
Almost all strings should be updated for F10 now ("Fedora 9. Make
waves." is still in the POT right now, I'm emailing the marketing list
to find out what the new line will be).
For any URLs that were included in the POT, try to make them point to
the translated version of the document, if one is available.
Sorry again for the lateness - hopefully we can still get the website
well-translated in time for F10. Let me know if there are any
questions/issues.

PO files: http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/fedora-web.test/?p=fedora-web.test.git;a=...
Thanks a lot,
Ricky
