Dear translators,
we finally have a working translation system for the documentation translation. We need your feedback! Both on this doc translation and the weblate translation platform.
This is an important step, because : * since two years and leaving docbook xml, it wasn't possible to translate any documentation anymore. * the zanata team doesn't exist anymore, and we need to find a new tool to host our project * as far as I know, this is a huge and complex documentation to translate (1500 pages, 65 strings, ~800 000 words), that may be reused by other projects.
If you translate in FR/CZ or JP, please test translating and ask me to push new translations. Or just by browsing the website and spotting bugs.
Here is the place to translate: https://translate.holcroft.fr/languages/ (warning: this is selfhosted in my home, it's not really fast)
You can see the result on: https://docs.stg.fedoraproject.org
Here is the story about what we did with Adam Samalik: https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/fedora-docs-translations-fad-report/
If you're no part of these language teams and still wish to test weblate, please discover the platform there: http://hosted.weblate.org, you can even translate in your language.
We hope you'll like it.
This is a very good news. I was waiting for this a long time and I like how you are using staging environment for translation testing.
Awesome work!

I tried to translate a few strings and here are some thoughts:
1) It will be nice to have some translation guidelines - I wasn't sure if I should also translate strings in [references]
2) It will be nice to have glossary copied from Zanata - this will help new translator with orientation, how to translate some things, right now I'm looking at the translation memory in Zanata
3) Could we automate the translation uploading to docs.stg.fedoraproject.org? - So we shouldn't need to bother you every time we translate something
4) I noticed that the czech translation of https://docs.stg.fedoraproject.org/cs/fedora/f29/install-guide/ is missing logo, that is in en-US version. Instead you see text. Somebody probably translated this without noticing that this points to some image. See https://translate.holcroft.fr/translate/fedora-l10nfedora-install-guide/f29p... and this looks like issue with translated reference string I wrote about in point 1)
5) I also noticed some translated files that are failing checks in weblate - See https://translate.holcroft.fr/translate/fedora-l10nfedora/f29nav/cs/?type=al...
Otherwise the documentation looks ready for translation.

Good point, we'll do that :) Maybe we should ask the doc team to write a documentation page about this?

OK, it shouldn't be too difficult to do, but this is related to the eventual Zanata to Weblate migration. Not sure this applies now.

This will be the case in close future. Only time is needed.

Yep, this a known bug I should have tell you about, we don't handle images for now in translated content. Adam is searching a solution so we don't have to copy all images for all languages (the git repository would be too big).
- I also noticed some translated files that are failing checks in
weblate - See
Weblate has some quality checks, as far as I know, all of them should be fixable by translators.

And I also noticed that a doc navigation menu (left-hand side) isn't translated. ;) I thought that it would be translated if the nav.doc had been translated, but apparently it isn't.
